"Golden Light and Dappled Shade", 30cm x 30cm, £245

"Golden Light and Dappled Shade"

A mixed Media painting on wood.

Approx measurements : unframed 30cm x 30cm, framed in a simple off white float frame with a slight shadow gap 34cm x 34cm

This painting has evolved and developed through many layers of acrylic paint in a very natural and intuitive process.  At certain stages along the way, marks have been created by sanding back and scratching into the surface to reveal, colours, textures and marks from earlier layers.

The many thin layers of glazing create an almost translucent appearance.  In certain lights the colours seem to lighten or darken depending on the level and direction of light.on the surface much like how the surface of a shaded stream or riverbank might appear on a glorious summers day as the leaves and branches above move in a gentle breeze. to reveal the colours and hidden gems below the surface.

This painting is sealed and finished with a layer of UV satin varnish.

"Everlasting", 30cm x 30cm, £245

"Everlasting"

A mixed Media painting on wood.

Approx measurements : unframed 30cm x 30cm, framed in a simple off white float frame with a slight shadow gap 34cm x 34cm

This painting has evolved and developed through many layers of acrylic paint to create a sense of depth and history and the surface has elements of visible texture which add to the character.

A closer view of the deep green section of the painting reveals a vast array of detail held beneath the translucent top surface layer which on first glance, from a distance is not perhaps seen.  While the lighter top section has a more opaque and textured feel.  The inspiration behind this painting was to try and capture a sense of the history of the landscape which builds over the years and remains to create an everlasting link between the current day and previous times.

the surface of this painting is sealed and finished with a layer of cold wax has been gently buffed to create a soft, slightly reflective sheen.
