Studio Archive
My work emerges from an evolving enquiry into the human connection to landscape through time and memory. Ongoing explorations of temporality shaped by where I have been providing the spark for each new beginning.
This archive traces the evolution of my practice. Each painting is a deeply personal exploration of textures and mark making seeking surfaces rich with aesthetics of time, landscape and memory. Through multiple layers 0f paint, ink, pastel, charcoal, graphite and occasionally collage each painting slowly evolves into an entirely unique artwork.
While some paintings appear to capture the essence of a particular place, others reveal glimpses into more personal moments of observation. Aspiring to evoke within the viewer a reason to pause, and an invitation to spend time with the work, allowing a slow and quiet recognition of the expressions of time and memory embedded within the work and our everyday experiences of the landscapes we engage with.
Collections of available paintings are available directly from Gallery at Home, Usk, Wales and The Paragon Gallery, Cheltenham.
